the Christian life

Some of my readers may recognize the title of this book as similar to a booklet by H.A. Ironside. Dr. Ironside provided a brief overview of the nature of man as body, soul, and spirit and I have done so, as well. Ironside then used 2 Corinthians 5 as a template to explain what happens to a Christian when he or she dies. I wanted to expand on Ironside's work, so I have included the eschatological judgments, as well as a few charts to depict the destinations of both believers and unbelievers.

We will look at the Biblical data from a few different angles: the dichotomous perspective (believers and unbelievers before and after the Cross); the dispensational perspective (an overview of believers and unbelievers through the various dispensations); and the 1 Corinthians 15 perspective (focusing on Paul's outline in verses 20-28).

Finally, there are many reader questions that are answered in a question and answer format. Questions include:

"Ezekiel 37 talks about people coming out of graves, so is this the rapture?"

"Is cremation a sin? Does it affect the resurrection of the body?"

"What are the rewards given to Christians? Are they the same as the OT believers?"

"Is God present in Hell?"

"Will we be with our families in Heaven?"

Did believers prior to the Cross go to heaven? What about now? Do believers go to Heaven when they die, or somewhere else? What is Heaven? What is Hell? Is Hell the same as the Lake of Fire? What will believers be doing after Christ returns? Will we be in Heaven or on earth? What is the New Jerusalem? Do people become angels in Heaven? Will our pets be in Heaven? Can people in Heaven watch us on earth?
